ProdPad: A Year in the Life (part two)

December 13, 2019

4 minute read

Well, what a year it’s been for ProdPad. We’ve covered all our exciting feature-updates in part one; it’s now time to look at everything else.

Yes, our product management software is at the heart of ProdPad, but so much more has gone down that’s made the year really special. We’ve grown, we’ve learnt, we’ve supported, we’ve helped – and it’s been a total blast.

Let’s look back at the most memorable moments from 2019:

We marched for what was important

As a company we are always looking for ways we can be more sustainable to protect our planet. In September we joined forces with the rest of the world and took part in the Global Climate Strike. Climate change has got to go, and we’re here to help. Who is with us?

Our CEO (Janna Bastow) did an iconic Twitter Ted Talk

Kim Kardashian eat your heart out, it was our very own Janna Bastow who broke the internet this September. Janna took to Twitter to explain why timeline roadmapping is not the one; the product industry went mad for it. Here’s what Janna had to say about that Twitter thread and why timeline roadmaps suck (her words not ours).

We were appointed onto the G-Cloud Framework

ProdPad is now the only approved product management tool for UK Government organizations. Thanks to this G-Cloud framework, government bodies (including central, local and public sector) can use ProdPad as their trusted product management tool.

Our company grew… and grew some more

We needed to make sure we had the best team possible to give our customers (and the sector in general) everything they need. We welcomed 11 new ProdPadders in 2019, which included our US Business Lead, Wes Galliher.

And let’s not forget the newest AI member

DotBot does feature in Part One – but they’re a big deal. Here’s what Will Newmarch, ProdPad’s Technical Lead, had this to say about this addition to the ProdPad family.

We headed to the countryside for our annual off-site

Because where else are you ever going to be able to have a meeting in the swimming pool? Every year the ProdPad family gets together to enjoy a week of important conversations, team building, and idea sharing – and this year was no exception.

We reminded everyone that love trumps hate

ProdPad took to social media during Pride month to show their support for the LGBTQIA+ community. We asked members of the ProdPad team what Pride meant to them. Here’s what Matt had to say about the campaign, and the safe, welcoming environment at ProdPad.

We opened a new office in the UK

Our affectionately named NorfPad office (it’s above London so it’s the north, right?) will provide our customer-facing team with more space for collaboration. This means more team chats and even more Post-it notes!

We met hundreds of product people all over the world

Life at ProdPad is hectic, but for all the right reasons. This year we attended over a dozen events around the globe, meeting a plethora of passionate product people. Our Chief Customer Officer, Liz Love, has explained just how great that feels.

And, ProdPad HQ got a new home

Our ProdMansion can be found in the heart of Brighton, UK. It’s going to give us much more space, allowing us to expand when needed and, most importantly, provide the best support to our customers. If you’d like to come and see our new digs, just let us know and we’d be happy to arrange a time to show you around.
