Customer Feedback Portal 2.0: New Branded Portals Are Here!
You never really know where a hack project is going to go.
Last year, we kicked off a hack project at our first team offsite in sunny Slovenia. Our CEO Janna Bastow issued the following challenge:
“There are dozens of customer feedback tools out there, but the #1 request coming in from customers is still a customer feedback tool. We have an opportunity here. Can we build the customer feedback tool people really want?”
We spent the next two days picking apart the problem and ended up with one MVP and two choices on our hands:
- Head home and keep working on it for weeks (months?) until our MVP was shinier, more polished and “just right.”
- Done is better than perfect: Launch on ProductHunt.

The Customer Feedback Portal solved a real problem. Hundreds of new users wanted a tool that gets them product feedback for free.
Lots of them upgraded to take on our full suite of tools and saw value in that. But then they wanted more. More functionality. More customization. More sophistication. And they were were ready to pay for it.
We spent just two days on our hack project. But we ended up spending a year collecting feedback to help us decide what to build next.

The next iteration: Powerful features for all ProdPad customers
If you’re on a Standard plan or higher, you now have access to a much more powerful version of our original Customer Feedback Portal.
Branding and customization (Standard plan and up)
You can now design your portal and widget with your logo, brand colors and copy.
What will you do with your new copy powers? Bring in your own brand voice? Host your portal in the language your customers speak? Go for it!
Host on your own domain (Premium plan and up)
We heard you – you want to have full branding control! By default, your portal sits on portal.prodpad.com, but with your embed code, you can embed your portal on your own domain.
Collect feedback each product you manage (Premium plan and up)
If you’re a Premium customer, you can now open up as many portals as you want for each product.
Get feedback per product: If you want to log feedback for each product separately, you can launch a portal per product.
Get feedback in different languages: If you have a multilingual customer base, you can get set up multiple portals in any language for the same product.
Now, here’s what you can do for free
Our free plan stays free – no changes there 🙂 The free plan gets you a basic portal and a widget to start collecting feedback right away.
